Welcome to another financial update. This month, received three paychecks and maxed out my Roth IRA!

NET WORTH UPDATE
ASSETS: $114,775 (↑)
- Cash ($2,700) – My emergency fund bucket increased by only $700 this month. The goal is to consistently contribute $1000 every month to this account. Check out this link for more of my short term and long term financial goals. As always, I am grateful for month #10 without a significant financial emergency.
- Car ($13,639) – The value of my car from Kelley Blue Book increased slightly this month. I have noticed that every few months, the value goes up instead of down. This is a depreciating asset that thankfully, is paid off.
- Investments ($98,436) –My investment portfolio, which is comprised of a variety of accounts, grew by $8,135 or 9%. I get paid biweekly so twice a year, I get an extra paycheck in June and in November. I treat that “extra money” as investment money, so every last penny was used to max out my Roth IRA contributions for the year ($5,500 is the 2017 contribution limit). This is the first time that I have maxed out my Roth contributions. I made contributions last year but was unable to max it out because I was focused on debt repayment.
